Andrea Branzi
Andrea Branzi (2023–1938) was an Italian architect, designer, theorist, and educator who stood at the forefront of Radical Design. In 1966 he co-founded Archizoom Associati in Florence, creators of No-Stop City, a critique of consumerism and modernist planning. Later based in Milan, he co-founded Domus Academy in 1983 and taught at Politecnico di Milano, influencing generations through his writing and teaching. His work linked ecology, anthropology, and symbolism. Working with wood, acrylic, aluminum, and natural fibers, Branzi explored anti-monumentality, domestic rituals, and diffuse modernity through projects like No-Stop City, Animali Domestici, and Trees in Vase. His projects and essays are represented in MoMA, the Centre Pompidou, and the Triennale Milano.
