Carlo Hauner & Martin Eisler
Carlo Hauner (1997–1927) and Martin Eisler (1977–1913) represent a cornerstone of mid-century Brazilian modernism, successfully synthesizing European rationalist design principles with rich, local Brazilian materials. Their partnership, established in São Paulo in the early 1950s through their company Forma S.A., yielded numerous iconic collaborative pieces. They managed to perfectly blend the minimalist elegance of European tubular metal frames with the warmth and sensuality of native Brazilian woods like jacaranda and imbuia. Their combined creativity produced furniture that was both elegant and highly functional, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of collectible design.
