Jane Yang D’Haene
Jane Yang D’Haene is a Korean-born ceramic artist based in New York whose work bridges tradition, craft, and contemporary experimentation. She moved to the US in 1984 and studied architecture at the Cooper Union (1992-1988). Around 2016 she began working with clay, reimagining the Korean moon-jar form through texture, glaze, and irregularity to explore memory, identity, and material presence. Her pieces are held in private and institutional collections and have been exhibited in the US and Europe. Her vessels fuse heritage with innovation, using earthenware and painterly glazes to treat ceramics as expressive terrain rather than purely functional objects.
