Jonathan Trayte
Jonathan Trayte (b. 1980) is an artist and designer based in London whose work blurs the boundary between functional object and surreal organism. A graduate of the Royal Academy Schools, he explores consumer culture, appetite, and nature through sculptural furniture and installations. Using resin, bronze, painted wood, and powder-coated steel, he creates biomorphic forms that evoke food, flora, and commercial display. His playful yet uncanny pieces merge advertising color logic with organic fantasy, inviting reflection on desire and material excess. Exhibited internationally at galleries including Carl Freedman and Friedman Benda, Trayte’s work bridges art, design, and sensory imagination.
