The afterimage of beginning 019-515 is a later work from Choi Byung-Hoon’s ongoing series, made in 2019. Choi works directly with the natural character of each material, keeping forms simple so that the stone and the wood carry the piece. Rooted in traditional Korean aesthetics and Eastern philosophy, his work invites stillness and contemplation, and treats furniture as a quiet presence in a space rather than only an object of use.
